No justice for the Browns

This past weekend the announcement  of  Darren Wilson not being guilty of the murder of Mike Brown was made. This caused riots, looting, violence and in other places peaceful protest, but in Ferguson everyone was furious. The family themselves didn't want any negative outcome coming from this but retaliation come out. Police officers tear gassing crowds of people, police cars being set on fire and people burning buildings. All they want is to see justice, but what is justice really when police officers are getting away with murder? from Traction Martin, Emmett Till, and now Mike Brown. Three cases of white on black crime, what can we do as an community to make a better out come of this crisis. 

Shootings in 2014 could top Worcester record

In 2005, the city of Worcester had 33 shootings, but this year there's already been 31 shootings with 3 deaths. Police officers and Gang Unit say that these are gang related activity. Since the Christian A. Obeng-Addo, there's been at least 4 related events after. Police are worried about passing the recorded but are more worried about the youth who are involved in the gangs. They want to see what they can do for the youth to not be included in these activities. Reach out to them and see what is a better alternative for them. As we still have this year to finish up, we as a community, don't know is going to happen. All we can do is hope for a better day, and make sure that our family and friends are safe.

Murder after murder

3 arrests and murders in New York and Worcester. In NY a man was caught after his flight. The other 2 happened in worcester county. One was on Suffolk street apartment, a women got arrested. Another was on Lovell street where police and swat found a baby in the street in a car seat. They found two females, one 32 and the other 18 (mother of the child). Then back at Suffolk street, two other men was arrested. One man was Mr.Inoa and Mr.Rodriguez. Suppose all these arrests were conected.

At least 15 hurt in shootings since Saturday

Even thou it doesn't really affect us on the east coast, we should still know what is happening around the country. On the west coast in Chicago, there was a shooting with many people wounded. This event happened between  Saturday night and Sunday morning, four of the victims were teenage boys. One of the four was shot in the face, the others had minor gun shot wounds. the 11 other victims were 20 years or older. All the shootings were at different times and locations. From the past months in Massachusetts , its increasing a reputation of gun and gang violence. This past week there was a stabbing on Shrewsberry street. Hopefully Worcester doesn't get the same rep as Chicago.

Nigera free of ebola

-Nigeria free of ebola, after a month of the contaminatoin, 20 case of people affected with it and 8 others died of it. This was said by WHO country director Rui Gama Vaz. He also stated that " This was just a battle, the war will end if western Africa is also free of Ebola." Since Africa is a heavily populated place, there are someplaces still contaminated with Ebola. For example Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea and it has claimed more than 4,500 lives.
-Since the first out brake of Ebola in the America, theres been one case of Ebola in Texas. Should we be worried as american citizens, YES. As a New Englander we should prepare for a worst case scenario if Ebola gets up here. The reason being New York is the most traveld state in America. So we should be cautious just in case if an outbreak happens there.

More and more shootings

Already there has been 5 homicide cases this year. Now I definitely know all of this is gang related activity. Since the recent case of Christian Obeng making the 5th case, theres been a lot of buzz all over Facebook. No doubt this is gang related and now passed mid night, around 3:40. Another shooting at Freedom Way. All of these attempts of murder is ruining the our society, neighborhood, and generation. Leaving a negative mark on all of us. Life is not ment to be short. It just gets me mad to see people lose their life for nothing but more violence.

WPI gets grant from foundation that honors fallen Boston firefighters

WPI was granted $75,000 for developing a fire hoes that is fire proof. In dedication of the two fireman Michael Kennedy and Lt. Edward Walsh from the Back Bay fire. This ain't just for them, its for every fire department that had lost fellow fireman in blazing fires. Hopefully it can go international as well.

One thing i liked about the 2007 year book is the senior superlatives in the beginning pages.

another thing that i like but in 2008 was the most unforgettable and in loving memory section. I think these sections is a must.
